Peace School is a community organisation established to teach the Arabic language and Islamic studies, with the aim of developing a better understanding of the Islamic/Arab culture, for 5 to 16-year-old pupils.
Peace School is committed to delivering the best for its students; a mindset that is shared by all its teaching staff. With regular staff training in modules such as lesson planning, behaviour management and interactive learning, the student experience is always positive.
Through the incorporation of interactive learning, creativity and digital storytelling, the school takes a unique approach to the study of language; it blends different activities such as role-play to ensure learning is always made fun and engaging. Peace School also provides classes for students intending to sit examinations for Arabic at GCSE Level.
Besides language, the school aims to reinforce cultural values through dedicated cultural activities and trips as well as engagement in sports. Children and their families are encouraged to better integrate their culture with the British society at large, contributing positively to this vibrant multicultural society. Peace School works closely with the Museum of London as well as Goldsmiths University which further enhances the overall student experience.
Peace School has won multiple awards including the well-known British Academy Language Award for promoting language learning through creative means. The school was also shortlisted for the 2013 European Language Label Award.
